That’s why we are committed to the advocacies that empower governments, institutions, and stakeholders to overcome every obstacle and turn the blue economy potentials of their regions into paradigms of economic development and prosperity. With our team of passionate, committed and experienced professionals, we strive to deliver sustained advocacy programs and projects that will motivate actionable outcomes that make positive impacts in the development of the blue economies of African countries. What We Do

Blue Economy Sectors We Focus On

E

COASTAL AND MARITIME TOURISM

The natural endowments of the oceans and coastal areas offer a wide range of facilities and activities for recreation. This makes coastal and maritime tourism a vital economic activity for many coastal states and maritime countries of the world.

MARITIME AND WATER TRANSPORT

Water-based transportation is often the most cost effective connection between the in-land and the coastal regions. The water transportation sector can be a major contributor to the Gross Value added (GVA) of national economies.

AQUACULTURE DEVELOPMENT

Globally, Aquaculture is the fastest growing food sector today. This makes developing long-term, sustainable fisheries and aquaculture strategies to be an important process that portends great benefits to the national economies of coastal and maritime countries.

BLUE (MARINE) BIOTECHNOLOGY

Marine or Blue biotechnology (BBT) involves the exploration and exploitation of diverse marine plants and organisms to develop new products. This is a sector that offers high-skilled employment and significant job opportunities in downstream industries.

BLUE ENERGY DEVELOPMENT

The ocean and sea spaces are areas with inherent potential to ensure sustainable energy production. Apart from traditional oil and gas, other “Blue Energy” feedstock resources include wind, tides and waves, solar photovoltaic, and hydrogen.

BLUE (MARINE) MINERALS

The earth’s land mineral wealth is finite. The ocean beds are, however, beholden of massive amounts of valuable “blue mineral” resources. These marine mineral resources have a high potential to ensure the secured supply of raw materials for the world’s industries.
